Since I don’t post on the weekends… I am reposting this. This guy is an amazing voice in Christiandom. And, he is a personal friend. I met him while studying in seminary. I know a great deal of intelligent people… he ranks high on that list.

God and Stuff

All churches and denominations have their own brand of bullshit. I’ve been part of the Non-Denominational denomination for my entire life, so let’s focus on that one.

Our church is, technically, Non-Denominational, but is less conservative than most other churches who have applied this particular label to their definition. “Less conservative” might not accurately describe us.  We’re about two notches below snake-handling.

This is a challenging place to be. We are a small church because it’s not a church you can attend to just sit and enjoy. It’s usually far to intense for that. That being said, there is a certain reality of the Presence of God that exists. The thing I love about the church is that we, every week, go after that Presence. We don’t fuck around with a lot of filler or worry about time constraints. I’m not sure I could go back to a church that…
